A unique hallmark of eEvidence is that recipients don’t need to know that the email they receive is a registered email.
However, occasionally you may want to acknowledge this to them. In these cases, automatically adding the Registered by eEvidence legal notice to your emails can be very useful: this notice clearly informs recipients that the email has been certified by eEvidence.
Today we’re excited to announce the release of a new feature for all Scale plans that allows you to customize and add eEvidence’s legal notice in your registered emails.
What is a legal notice in an email?
A legal notice in an email is a short text added to your outgoing emails to inform or warn recipients about important issues related to the sender or the communication.
Common examples include privacy policies, copyright statements, contract details, or a “Registered by eEvidence” certification notice.
Unlike disclaimers, which are designed to limit the sender’s liability, legal notices act as reminders, warnings, or formal statements that add weight to your message.
What does a legal notice look like in an email?
Legal notices are usually placed at the top or at the bottom of the email, separate from the main body of the message.
As registered emails become more widespread, registered-by notices have become a new category of legal notices.
They serve to alert recipients that the email was sent via a registered delivery service, which will issue legal evidence of content and delivery.
What can you do with eEvidence’s new feature?
This feature gives Scale customers full control over the use and appearance of legal notices in their registered emails.
1. Turn on/off the legal notice
By default, the notice is hidden in Scale accounts (always enabled in Free accounts). Scale users can now easily enable or disable it.
2. Allow team members to use the notice
Admins can decide whether account users may add the legal notice to their registered emails.
3. Customize the notice
Start with the default “Registered by eEvidence” notice, or use our HTML editor to adapt the text and style. Keep it simple and relevant to maximize its impact.
4. Set the placement
Admins can place the notice at the top or bottom of the email, depending on strategy or preference.
5. Maintain legal certainty
Whether you add the notice or not, the legal enforceability of eEvidence’s registered emails never changes. The notice is an optional communication tool, not a legal requirement.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does adding a legal notice change the legal validity of my registered email?
No. The notice is only informative. The legal enforceability of your registered emails remains exactly the same.
Can Free accounts manage legal notices?
No. Free accounts always include the “Registered by eEvidence” notice by default. Customization is only available on Scale plans.
Is technical knowledge required to customize the notice?
Not at all. The built-in HTML editor is simple to use, even without coding skills.
Can recipients reply to my registered email normally if a notice is added?
Yes. The legal notice does not affect how recipients view or reply to your email.
Conclusion: Strengthen your registered emails with legal notices
Adding a legal notice is a simple yet powerful way to enhance the deterrent effect of your registered emails, making them harder to ignore and more likely to generate a response.
With eEvidence’s Scale plans, you can now decide when to add it, how it looks, and where it is placed—without sacrificing the transparency or legal certainty of your communications.
