Legal notice eEvidence

A unique hallmark of eEvidence is that recipients don’t need to know that the email they receive is a registered email.

However, occasionally you may want to acknowledge this to them. In these cases, automatically adding the Registered by eEvidence legal notice to your emails can be very useful: this notice clearly informs recipients that the email has been certified by eEvidence.

Today we’re excited to announce the release of a new feature for all Scale plans that allows you to customize and add eEvidence’s legal notice in your registered emails.

What is a legal notice in an email?

Legal notices have been around for a while and they can be used for many different purposes.

A legal notice in an email is a message that is added to your outgoing emails to inform or warn recipients about important issues to them or the sender. Common examples are privacy and data treatment policies, copyright, contract information or the registered by eEvidence notice.

Unlike email disclaimers which are used to protect senders and limit their liability, legal notices are used as statements, warnings or reminders and can be useful in a variety of situations.

What does a legal notice look like in an email?

Legal notices stand out by themselves.

You’ll see them placed at the top or at the bottom of an email, right below the email signature. In any case, they tend to be separate from the core message.

Here’s an example of how the Registered by eEvidence legal notice looks like:

As you can imagine, legal notices can be seen in many different types of emails. As registered emails are on the rise, registered-by notices have became a new type of email notice.

They are used to alert recipients that the email they received has been sent by an electronic registered delivery service, who will issue an electronic legal receipt about the contents and delivery of the message and send it to the sender.

What can you do with eEvidence’s new feature?

Despite our technology doesn’t leave any footprints in your registered emails, we can’t ignore the fact that registered-by notices can be very effective in a variety of situations.

Adding the Registered by eEvidence legal notice to your registered emails will give them a stronger legal appearance and will allow you to create a deterrent effect, which will likely force recipients to reply – or at least take your message more seriously.

As from today, customers in Scale plans can customize and add eEvidence’s legal notice in their registered emailsWe’ve added a brand new section in the settings panel called “Legal notice”, where you’ll be able to manage the related settings.
